Welcome to the Jelemensky surname (of the United States) web page. The family tree below shows the United States  Jelemensky family tree from the late 19th century through the present, as I believe it to be. I use American given names.


My father, John Valentine Jelemensky emigrated to the US in the early 1900s. He was born, apparently, in Bratislava, in what was then known as Austria-Hungary, (later Checkoslovakia and now Slovakia), according to his birth certificate. In the US, he lived in Illinois and Michigan before retiring to Florida in the late 1950s. He and my mother, Mary bore 7 children, 2 girls and 5 boys. All are still living in the US or deceased.

I have done some research into the family tree in Europe and have talked to a man in Vienna who I believe is my first cousin. He sketched a family tree for me which is what I base the Euroean portion of the family tree on.
